Stephanie Snow Photography is a wife and husband photography team, dedicated to capturing once in a lifetime moments for couples and families.
Every person has a unique story and I love having an opportunity to capture a small part of it.
Photographing beautiful moments that you'll cherish for a lifetime is something I strive for everyday.
I know how you feel!
Believe it or not, I get in front of the camera more than you think. It wouldn't be fair to ask you to have fun getting your photos taken if I wasn't willing to do it myself.
What do I do when I'm not working? I am a former PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and boat captain. I love all things water related whether it's an ocean, a lake or a pool. I'm an avid reader and love traveling and camping.
Mike and I spent three years on the road traveling all over the US and Canada, including Alaska, Newfoundland, and everywhere in between. We had amazing adventures and of course took fantastic landscape photography along the way!
We are grandparents to the most adorable little boy, although I'm in denial that I'm old enough to be a grandma.
I eat mostly vegetarian, ride my bike almost every day, and have a sweet tooth for chocolate.
I love to laugh and always try to be kind.
I'm from a small town in Michigan (Marlette to be exact) and have a strong work ethic.
I'll be there on time, do more than you expect, and I want you to be happy.
And my other half-Mike
Mike is an award winning photographer, so you can have confidence when he's behind the camera.
I couldn't do what I do without the support of my husband Mike. Although I'm the one spending hours every day sending emails, editing client galleries, meeting clients, and answering the phone; Mike is with me on almost every shoot doing what he does best.
He is my second photographer, lighting director, clothing straightener, finger watcher, sunglass holder, blink checker, and does everything else I ask of him.
He's great at keeping husbands entertained while I take "one more shot".
He loves to ride his bicycle and is a competitive athlete.
He worked in the schools for 30 years as an educator, Head Counselor and Administrator.
I don't hold the fact that he's from Ohio and went to The Ohio State University against him!
We met in Colorado and lived around the Denver Metro area for years before finally moving to Florida in 2008. He's happy to never shovel snow again and be able to get outside every single day.
A Little More About Us and Our Favorite Things:
We travel as much as we can!
Camping, Cross Country and around the World
Growing up in a small town in Michigan, my family took a roadtrip around the Great Lakes every summer. But something inside of me knew I wanted to see more. When I was 15, I had a chance to go to Paris with the high school French class. Spending my 16th birthday in France changed my life. I realized what an amazing world we live in and I want to see as much as I can.
I've found ways to travel the world. We lived in Maadi, Egypt for a year while Mike was the Assistant Principal at an American-English school. I lived in York, England for a summer and worked in a classic English pub. We worked on a live-aboard dive boat in the Turks and Caicos for a year working as the video and photo pros.
I can't count all the countries we've been to and in the last 6 years have road tripped to every state in the continental U.S. including Alaska and all over Canada.
Travel photography is a passion, and a great excuse to watch the sunrise and sunset everywhere we go. We had the opportunity from 2015-2018 to live on the road and became expert tent campers.
Now that we're settled in Englewood, we still try to take the hot and slower summer months to explore another part of the world.
Mike is a stronger rider than me, but we both enjoy bicycling. Mike gets out almost every morning and it's not unusual for him to ride 30-50 miles. I admire his dedication and I manage to squeak out 15 miles at a time, 4 or 5 days a week. If you call before 9 a.m., there's a good chance I'm starting my day off with a ride for fresh air.
While we traveled for 3 years, the bikes came with us. We had a great time biking all over the U.S.
All Things Water Related
Mike and I met in 1998 in Colorado when I started working at a dive shop after becoming a scuba instructor. Mike was also a scuba instructor and spent his summer vacations away from school, guiding sailboat charters in the British Virgin Islands.
In 2000 we moved to Grand Turk and worked on a dive live aboard. It was while we were there that we got married. For over 20 years we worked as scuba instructors, boat captains, and underwater photographers.
We both got tech certified (seen here) and have over 5000+ dives each. Breathing underwater is as comfortable to us as breathing on land.
Although we both retired from PADI, we still dive for pleasure when we can.
Around here, we settle for shark tooth diving a couple times a year, hopefully take a good dive vacation and enjoy kayaking on the Myakka and Peace Rivers.
How long have I been a photographer?
People always ask me this question and it's a good one. As a teenager in 4-H, I took photo classes. In high school I was a year-book photographer and editor. In college, I got my bachelor's degree in Television Production and worked behind the camera and in the studio for the CBS affiliate, WWMT in Kalamazoo. I also worked for a production company as a writer, director and editor.
From there I moved to Colorado and continued to work in television. During this time I also fell in love with scuba and became an instructor. But in my eight years in Colorado, I managed to keep my hand in both. Sometimes I worked tv full time and scuba part time, and sometimes it was the other way around.
Around 2004 I started working with another production company and shot my first wedding. I learned fast and loved working with couples. Photographing a wedding is like working a newscast...you get one chance to get it right, you have to keep moving and keep up, and being prepared can make the day go a whole lot smoother!
In 2018 we settled in Englewood and I started Stephanie Snow Photography LLC. It was scary having the business in my name, with all the responsibility of it on my shoulders. I worked hard from the beginning to establish a great reputation with local vendors, wedding planners and venues, and most importantly-you, the client.
I know that every photoshoot is a reflection of me and my brand, and I've had great success.
I've been published in local and national magazines and have been a contributing writer and photographer for numerous websites.
I've photographed hundreds of families, couples and weddings in the last few years and have enjoyed every person that I've met.
