BLIND PASS BEACH SURPRISE PROPOSAL
Nick and Leah were coming to Englewood to enjoy a weekend away from the cold in Maryland. They’ve been together for more than seven years and Nick decided that this trip was the perfect time for his surprise proposal. He called and we set up a plan for him to propose on Blind Pass Beach on Manasota Key, just before sunset.
Mike and I arrived early and set up nearby with a beach blanket, camera ready, pretending to be just another beachgoer. Nick walked by both of us, set down his backpack (which was carrying the engagement ring) and took her down to the water to pretend to look for shark’s teeth. Positioned perfectly in between us, he dropped to his knee to ask Leah to marry him. She couldn’t believe it and the joy showed all over her face as she said “YES!”
She’d been waiting for this moment for years and every detail was perfect. We celebrated with champagne, which she popped open and sprayed like a pro. They laughed and hugged and enjoyed their first sunset as a newly engaged couple.
This Blind Pass Beach surprise proposal was everything a proposal should be. I’m so honored I got to photograph the start of their next chapter together. See some highlights from this sunset beach proposal below.
