BOCA GRANDE SURPRISE PROPOSAL

Sydney and Grant’s love story began five years ago at a bar in New York, and it’s been a beautiful journey ever since. When it came time to pop the question, Grant knew exactly where it needed to happen: Gasparilla Island, a place that holds special meaning for Sydney and her family. With help from her parents, he planned the ultimate Boca Grande surprise proposal, and we were lucky enough to be there to capture every unforgettable moment.

Here’s how it all unfolded: After lunch at the Gasparilla Inn Beach Club (where Grant cleverly ordered two entrees to stall for time), they returned home and took their adorable new puppy for a walk along the beach. They casually strolled past me, just a “random beachgoer” getting a tan, before looping back toward the perfect proposal spot.

As they returned, Grant led Sydney up to a small plateau above the water, placing himself directly in my line of sight. With Mike and I covering different angles, he dropped to one knee and asked Sydney to spend forever with him.

The shock, joy, and overwhelming love on her face said it all, yes, yes, yes! And just when Sydney thought the surprises were over, she looked up to see both of their families watching the moment unfold from the upstairs windows of their beach house. Pure magic.
