EVIE’S ON THE BAY WEDDING

Sometimes the best love stories begin with friendship. Shelly met Josh through his sister, and what started as a connection between friends slowly blossomed into something deeper. With ties to both Venice and Nokomis, they knew a relaxed and scenic Evie’s on the Bay wedding would be the perfect way to celebrate their journey together.

We began the day at the beautiful Bay Preserve at Osprey, where the couple shared their first look under the canopy of oak trees. It was a warm June day, but that didn’t stop the emotions from flowing. Josh looked sharp in his blue suit, and when Shelly tapped him on the shoulder, his reaction was pure love, including happy tears of joy. Those quiet moments made for some of my favorite portraits of the day.

We captured a few fun and romantic photos under the canopy before inviting family to join us. The Burrows-Matson House made a classic backdrop for group portraits, and Josh couldn’t resist sneaking around to the water’s edge for more photos overlooking Little Sarasota Bay. He had his eye on that view from the beginning, and it didn’t disappoint.

Soon, it was time to head to The Point at Evie’s on the Bay, where guests were gathered on the lawn, ready to witness Shelly and Josh say “I do.” Shelly was escorted down the aisle by her father, and their heartfelt vows were full of promise and love. After the ceremony, the celebration kicked off with cocktails, laughter, and an unforgettable toast from Josh’s son that left the whole group teary-eyed.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we captured golden-hour portraits by the water, followed by a joyful first dance and bouquet toss on the lawn. It was a day full of love, tears, and laughter. A day that they’ll remember forever.
