PALM ISLAND RESORT WEDDINGS

Kim and Clay’s wedding at Palm Island Resort was every bit as magical as they’d imagined. Tucked away off Florida’s Gulf Coast and only accessible by ferry, the island’s quiet charm and natural beauty offered the perfect backdrop for a private, unforgettable wedding weekend. Palm Island Resort weddings offer a rare kind of coastal charm with secluded beaches, gentle breezes, and a setting that feels like your own private paradise.

Kim’s mom discovered the resort and shared it with them via Zoom since they live out of state. In January they visited the island together and instantly fell in love with its vibe. Palm Island Resort checked every box with a beachfront ceremony, a scenic reception space, and the feeling of a true destination wedding. Kim and Clay got ready in two different suites and we had time to photograph them getting ready with their wedding party. After Kim was ready, she did a “First Look” with her father in the room, before heading downstairs and seeing Clay for the first time. By seeing each other before the wedding, this calmed their nerves and gave us time to capture some bridal party photos before the wedding started.

We then headed to the beach to get in place for the ceremony. Their closest friends and family joined them for the celebration. Kim’s father walked her down the aisle and they read the vows they had written for each other. Tears were shed as they spoke from their hearts. Soon they exacted rings and said, “I DO!”, kissing to show their love and commitment to each other.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered at the water to throw shells back into the Gulf, symbolizing releasing their dreams for the future out to the universe.

After the wedding, we headed to the reception tent for dinner, dancing and toasts. They enjoyed cocktail hour with their friends, then had their Grand Entrance and first dances. Dinner was served and we headed back to the beach for sunset photos with just the two of them. Then the rest of the night was a PARTY! The DJ kept the dance floor rocking and soon ties and jackets were coming off. We captured some after dark photos on the bridge and danced the night away (until 10pm!)
