SURPRISE PROPOSAL in VENICE

Connor and Claire’s love story has a few twists and turns, but fate clearly had its own plans. They first met in college and went on a few dates before life pulled them in different directions. Connor moved to Texas, and by coincidence (or maybe something more), Claire ended up in Texas too. That’s where their paths crossed again, and this time, it stuck. Their relationship grew, and not long after, they moved back to Illinois together to be closer to their families.

What Claire didn’t know was that Connor had something big planned during a trip to Southwest Florida. With Connor’s family having a home in Englewood and Claire’s family nearby in Venice, the beach felt like the perfect place to ask the biggest question of his life.

Connor reached out to me ahead of time to help plan the perfect surprise proposal in Venice, and of course, to photograph it all as it unfolded. But what really made this moment extra special was his second surprise: both of their families had flown in and were secretly waiting nearby to watch the proposal happen in real time.

As Claire walked down the beach with Connor, she had no idea what was coming. When he dropped to one knee, the emotion on her face said it all. She said yes through happy tears and laughter, and moments later, cheers erupted as their families came running down the sand to celebrate.
