SURPRISE PROPOSAL in VENICE

Calvin and Rachel’s love story has a few twists and turns, but fate clearly had its own plans. They first met in high school but went their separate ways in college. But soon they rekindled their love and have been together for more than seven years. After recently buying a home together, Calvin knew it was time to pop the question. He planned a trip to Siesta Key and called me to help him plan his surprise proposal. He wanted a quiet beach around sunset and we weren’t sure we’d get that on Siesta Key. Instead, we planned his surprise proposal in Venice at Service Club Park.

Rachel flew down for a short weekend and had no idea what he had planned. He told her they had dinner reservations at Fin’s that evening, so they dressed up and headed down. He messaged me when they got to the parking, and we were all set up away from the few people on the beach that night.

As Rachel walked down the beach with Calvin, she had no idea we were there waiting to photograph his surprise proposal. When he dropped to one knee, the emotion on her face said it all. She said YES through happy tears and couldn’t believe it was finally happening. Calvin had told me ahead of time she was a prone to cry, and he was right.

After we approached, we gave them time to enjoy the moment and then captured some great engagement photos of them together. Calvin had an additional surprise for her. He had ordered custom champagne glasses, and we bought an expensive bottle of champagne for them to celebrate with. After a fun champagne spray with a different bottle, they had the good bottle to enjoy later.
