From helping you pick the spot and make up a cover story, to being in place before you arrive. Planning the Surprise

We’ll talk through ideas for the surprise. If you already have a plan, great! I’ll help you execute it. Need ideas? I’ll have some suggestions for you. We’ll discuss the best location, cover story, and tips to make it a great day.

Proposal Day

We’ll make sure everything is set and keep (discreetly) in touch. I’ll be there at least 30 minutes before you’re set to arrive and be in place. When you’re ready to propose, we’re there to capture every real, raw emotion. It’s that easy!

Download Your Photos

Within 24 hours you’ll be sent a few preview photos to enjoy and share on your socials, in case you want to announce it to the world. Your best surprise engagement photos will be ready in about a week. You can download, print and share them as you like.

This is the most popular cover story because allows you to dress up for a nice dinner and it’s believable that you’d want to enjoy a beautiful sunset.

I sit on the beach as a regular tourist with my camera hidden until the moment happens.

Make it part of a family or couple’s session

She knows she’ll have her picture taken and looks forward to the photos, and then you propose during the session.

This is easy because everyone is already dressed up and we plan the right moment for you to pop the question.

Plan another activity so she’s not expecting it.

Ask me about the private eco-tour ending in a secluded beach to propose in private. I keep the details hush hush online.

For the One Planning the Proposal
I’ll help you every step of the way. From location planning and timing to discreet communication all the way through. A classic proposal session begins at $1200, with options to elevate the moment with thoughtful touches like a second photographer, champagne celebration, romantic portraits afterward, and time for afterparties if you have one planned. Most couples invest around $1,200–$1,500.

Your Two-Part Love Story
Capture both chapters: the surprise and the celebration. Start with your surprise proposal, then schedule a full engagement shoot the next night for a complete story of your journey from “Will you?” to “I do.” Sessions start at $2200.

As soon as you know you’re coming down and want to propose, give me a call. My schedule fills up about one to two months ahead of time for weekend dates. Weekdays have more flexibility if you’re in town for a few days.

Depending on your cover story, she may see me, she just won’t realize I’m there to photograph your surprise proposal. If you’re planning a beach proposal, I’ll sit on the beach like a regular tourist with my gear hidden under a blanket. It works every time!

Great question. Beach proposals can be hard to move to a different location at the last minute, because the beach is so exposed. But if we can move the time slightly or wait out the rain, that’s what we’ll do. I’m willing to work with you on the day of to make sure it’s the best proposal possible.

The most common cover story is that you’re going out to dinner after sunset. I can recommend some great restaurants based on where you’re planning your proposal. This also works for going out to a nice lunch. Another common cover story is you tell her you’ve planned a couple’s session or family session so that you’re both dressed up, and you propose during the session.

I usually communicate by email leading up to the proposal day, as long as you tell me she doesn’t read your email. I will only text if you text me first or call back if you call me first. I always recommend putting my name in your phone as a fake name so it doesn’t show up as “surprise proposal photographer!”
