Top Photo Spots in Venice Florida for your Family Session
Whether you’re a local or visiting Venice Florida for the first time, this Gulf Coast city has some really great spots for family photos, and picking the right one can make a big difference in how your session feels. The right location isn’t just about the backdrop, it’s about whether your family can actually relax there, whether there’s shade for grandma, and whether the kids have room to run before you ask them to stand still for a picture.

Caspersen Beach
Caspersen Beach requires a little walk since Hurricane Milton damaged the road out there, but it’s worth it. Park at the dog beach lot or one of the small lots before the damaged section, then walk down to the water and away from the pier. What you’ll find is a quieter stretch of beach with rocks scattered along the shore, which is great if your family wants a session that feels empty instead of busy (especially during snowbird season). It’s especially beautiful at sunset, when the light softens and everything gets that golden glow. Grab the kids, walk along the shore together, and let them explore the rocks. Some of my favorite family images have come from exactly that.
Venice Fishing Pier
The Venice Fishing Pier is one of the most recognizable spots in town, and it works so well for families because there’s genuinely something for everyone. Grandparents can sit and rest in the shade underneath while the kids run along the sand nearby. The pier itself gives us so many great backdrops, whether we’re shooting sunrise or sunset. The waves rolling in under the pier make for some sweet candid moments too. I love taking photos under the pier, using it in the background and it’s so easy just to turn and not include it at all. It’s a favorite spot for many reasons.
The Banyan Trees on Venice Ave
On Venice Avenue you’ll find a row of huge banyan trees that form a natural canopy over the street. The branches twist and sprawl in every direction, and the dappled light underneath creates a beautiful look. Families love this spot because it feels a little different from the beach, and not every family wants to walk through the sand. Kids love climbing up on the roots and lower branches, which usually leads to some fun photos that show off their personality.
Historic Venice Train Depot
The Historic Venice Train Depot has a great vintage charm to it, with its arches and classic architecture right along the Legacy Trail. It’s a wonderful mix of history and nature, and the Ringling train car parked nearby adds a fun little area to photograph. Although it’s not an obvious choice for a family session, it’s a good location on a rainy day because it’s covered and we can stay dry.
