VENICE PIER SUNSET SESSION
I was thrilled when Nicole reached out to update her family photos. I first met them two years ago when Bella was just a baby, now she’s growing into the cutest little girl. Nicole was thrilled her family was coming to town for the holidays, and she knew it was the perfect time for a Venice Pier sunset session. We planned for golden hour by the Pier and hit our favorite “hot spots” on the boardwalk and beach. Because it was around Christmas time, the beach was packed, making it a little trickier to try to make it look like it was just us on the beach. But they were good sports and we all just went with the flow.
We began on the boardwalk by Sharky’s, capturing relaxed, candid moments as the family smiled and chatted. Then we moved to the pier itself, first standing under it, then moving to capture it in the background. Finally, we retreated to a stretch of sand just for them, a perfect backdrop for capturing the family’s connection and joy.
What I love about a Venice Pier sunset session is how the light, location, and mood work together to highlight authentic emotion. Nicole’s family was full of laughter, playful hugs, and we ended with a beautiful sunset. Scroll down to see some of the best highlights from their fun family session.
