Evan's mom lives in Venice, and she called me because he was planning a surprise proposal and wanted to have a photographer to capture it all!

His mom and friends went to the beach early to set up a red heart made with rose petals on the sand and surrounded it with tealights.

Evan texted when they arrived, so we knew they were moments away. I hid behind the lifeguard tower and Mike hid among the grasses as Evan and Lauren casually walked towards their spot. As Lauren started to realize what was happening, Evan got down on his knee and proposed. Of course, she said "YES!" and her excitement was obvious. We spent the next half hour photographing them together as they enjoyed their first sunset being newly engaged.
